FAQs

What is a plant-based keratin treatment?

A plant-based keratin treatment effectively replenishes the hair proteins lost over the years. This enables profound repair and long-lasting strengthening of every individual hair from the inside out. Frizz and flyaways are visibly reduced, existing split ends are almost completely repaired, and their recurrence is prevented. Both heavily bleached hair and curls benefit from this treatment, as they regain their elasticity and bounce. As a pleasant additional effect, the keratin coats the hair, leaving it silky smooth and radiant. This deep revitalization gives the hair a healthy and glowing appearance

How long does a plant-based keratin treatment last?

The smoothing intensity of the plant-based keratin treatment gradually decreases over 6–9 months. During this time, the roots also grow out, which is why we recommend repeating the treatment every 6 months. After some time, curly hair will return to its original structure without further treatment, but without frizz, flyaways, or split ends. By regularly repeating the bio-keratin treatment, the hair becomes progressively healthier, stronger, and smoother. This reduces the need for frequent treatment repetitions over time.

What is the difference compared to other permanent straightening treatments?

A true plant-based keratin treatment is fundamentally different from “permanent straightening,” “relaxers,” or “Brazilian blowout” treatments, as these consist primarily of chemical substances and permanently alter the hair structure. Unfortunately, it is often only after several washes that one realizes the hair has become damaged and brittle due to such chemical treatments, which can lead to breakage and hair loss. The only way to repair this hair is with a plant-based keratin treatment and a lot of patience.

Does hair grow faster with a keratin treatment?

As previously mentioned, the product does not come into contact with the scalp during a keratin treatment. Instead, the hair is strengthened through deep repair, which makes the hair ends less prone to breakage and makes the hair appear longer. There are positive reports of improved hair growth, particularly in the area of baby hairs.

It is important to note that a keratin treatment itself does not directly accelerate hair growth. Hair growth depends on various factors such as genetics, general health, and care. However, a keratin treatment can help make the hair overall healthier, more resilient, and less susceptible to breakage. This makes the hair appear longer and fuller.

How do I need to care for my hair after the treatment?

After a plant-based keratin treatment, it is important to ensure you use a natural shampoo free from parabens, sulfates, and chlorides so as not to wash out the keratin. If necessary, hair treatments and oils made from natural products that are free of the aforementioned ingredients should also be chosen.

For the best results, it is recommended to blow-dry your hair after washing, as the keratin in the hair requires heat to be activated. After a treatment, blow-drying time is reduced by approximately 60-70 percent. A plant-based keratin treatment makes hair easier to style and groom. Furthermore, the hair structure is no longer impaired by heat from hair dryers, straighteners, or curling irons.

To make it easier for you to find the perfect shampoo, we have developed our own product line that is perfectly compatible with the keratin treatment and ensures the healthiest and most radiant hair.

Our specially developed shampoo line contains no harmful ingredients and is designed to preserve the keratin in the hair while simultaneously ensuring optimal care. It offers you the ideal complement to the plant-based keratin treatment and helps to keep your hair in the best possible condition.

It is important to continue care after the keratin treatment to achieve long-term results. In addition to the right shampoo, other products such as conditioners, hair masks, and serums can help to protect the keratin and keep the hair healthy and radiant. Regular use of these products is recommended to enjoy the benefits of the keratin treatment for a long time and to optimally care for your hair.

Can I color my hair before and after a bio-keratin treatment?

Compared to chemical straightening treatments, the plant-based keratin treatment can be used on all hair types, including heavily bleached hair.

After the treatment, it is recommended to wait at least two weeks before coloring your hair again. If you decide to color your hair again, you should use an ammonia-free hair color.

The reason for waiting is that the hair needs time to regenerate after the keratin treatment and to fully enjoy the benefits of the treatment. Waiting to color your hair ensures that the hair is stable enough and that the keratin is not compromised.

It is important to note that chemical hair dyes, especially those containing ammonia, can stress the hair. Therefore, we recommend using ammonia-free hair colors, as they are gentler on the hair.

Can the treatment also be performed with hair extensions?

Yes, a plant-based keratin treatment can easily be performed on hair extensions. In our salon, we offer various hair-friendly extensions that are perfectly tailored to the treatment. We place great importance on ensuring your extensions are optimally protected during the process.

An explicit plant-based keratin treatment is particularly recommended for your hair extensions. This treatment strengthens and improves the structure and durability of the extensions in the long term. This means you can enjoy your hair extensions for much longer and get the most out of them.

To ensure that both your own hair and the extensions are optimally cared for, we also offer suitable care products. Our care products are specially developed for the treatment of hair extensions and support their health and beauty.

If you are interested in a plant-based keratin treatment for your extensions, our experienced hair experts are at your disposal. They will help you find the right treatment and care for your individual needs, ensuring you achieve the best possible result and can fully enjoy your hair extensions.

Is it safe to undergo the treatment during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

Yes, our plant-based keratin treatment is safe and free of harmful substances, including formaldehyde. Therefore, it can be used without any problems during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

We understand that expectant mothers and breastfeeding women have special concerns and are careful to use only products that are harmless to their health and that of their baby. Our plant-based keratin treatment meets these requirements and offers a safe option for caring for and strengthening your hair.

However, we recommend that you consult your doctor or midwife before having the treatment to ensure that there are no specific health concerns.

Our team of hair experts is available to support you during pregnancy and breastfeeding and to answer all your questions. We place great importance on the safety and well-being of our customers, and your health is our top priority.

Can I style my hair differently afterwards as well?

Yes, once the keratin has been washed out for the first time, you can style your hair exactly as you wish. You can curl, wave, or continue to straighten it. The good news is that the heat from styling no longer penetrates the hair, meaning it no longer causes damage. The plant-based keratin forms a protective layer around every single strand, which strengthens the hair structure and protects it from heat exposure.

It is important to note that the hair will return to its natural, smooth structure after washing. The plant-based keratin treatment provides long-lasting smoothing, but it is not permanent. Therefore, if you prefer your hair in its natural state after washing, it will regain its original texture.

We recommend using our specially developed hair care products after the treatment to optimize the results and maintain the health of your hair. Our products are perfectly tailored to the plant-based keratin treatment and help you keep your hair smooth, shiny, and supple. In addition, our hair experts are happy to provide you with further tips and recommendations for styling your hair after the treatment.

Can I go into salt or chlorine water after a treatment?

It is unfortunate, but both seawater and chlorinated water in swimming pools can gradually wash out keratin. However, if you are only planning a short holiday or occasional visits to the pool, there are some measures you can take to help protect your keratin.

Before entering the water, we recommend applying the Gold Line hair mask from our range to dry hair. This special hair mask contains high-quality ingredients that intensely nourish and protect your hair. By applying the mask, you create a protective barrier against salt or chlorine.

After getting out of the water, you should rinse your hair thoroughly with clear water to remove any salt or chlorine. You can then gently towel-dry your hair and, as needed, apply a nourishing leave-in treatment or other products from the Gold Line series to restore moisture and strengthen your hair.

It is important to note that repeated exposure to salt or chlorinated water can affect the longevity of your keratin treatment. If you swim regularly in salt or chlorinated water, we recommend that you thoroughly care for your hair after swimming and, if necessary, refresh your keratin treatment at shorter intervals.

Our team of experts is always available to provide you with individual advice and recommendations on how to optimally protect and care for your hair. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions.
